Obama’s NOT your Scapegoat – Man Up!!

000000000 ObamaPolitical discussions are usually not my specialty. Maybe because I am so centrist that I piss off both sides like an unmanned garden hose wildly drenching both sides of the green grass on the other side. But today, I can’t help but get political on your ass. Everywhere I turn, these days, I want to be the proverbial monkeys that can’t hear, speak, or see. Everybody is blaming Obama for everything! And when I mean everything I mean everything!! Don’t get me wrong, I am far from an Obama fan especially during the days of the present. But is he really responsible for you not be talented enough to find a new job? Is he really responsible for the war in Iraq? Is he really responsible for the violence between white police and black men? Is he really responsible for all of the government’s debt problems? Is he really responsible China, the Middle East, your divorce, the drug war, or your grandmother’s death? It seems absurd but that’s what I am hearing.

I believe the reality is that there is a lot you can control but not everything. And usually, the things you can control have nothing to do with the President of the United States. It’s your role and your conviction that is necessary to blaze a path to a new destiny. It is your responsibility to control the way you react to things that are TRULY out of your control. Ok, I think I have gotten my point across even though I feel this blog post sucks. But I do know one thing about this sucky blog post… it’s not Obama’s fault.

Political Vomit

000000000000000000000 politicsIt’s that time again, and our TV airways are flooding with attack ads. How about telling us the good things about yourself rather than the bad things about your opponent. I guess they don’t teach that trick in politicking school. Also, are these bozo’s so power hungry after making millions in the private sector that they are willing to take a high profile job that is highly stressful but has a lot smaller paycheck. In case you haven’t realized, these are rhetorical questions and I am just a bit fired up. I don’t expect you to answer them.

What I wouldn’t give for Jesse Ventura about now to plant his ass in my state and run for governor. Until that happens, I will just need to find a viable ballot candidate this time from the current residents of my state. I trust Montgomery Brewster to run my state more than the candidates from the majority parties currently running. It’s a sad state of affairs when we think the only viable opinions are those from two different ends of the spectrum. Until the rest of the world realizes that the Republicans and Democrats are in cahoots together so they only have to battle one other opponent, Mickey Mouse will probably be getting plenty of votes from me. Or maybe I will just resort to “None of the Above.”

It’s Enough Politics Already

000 politicsMy mind is exhausted from all the political bantering that goes on here. From people mocking our President, to political posts on Facebook, to political ads on TV. Everywhere you turn, politics this, bantering that. Heck, I may even be a hypocrite by writing about there being to much politics. Is that in itself politics?

Anytime I get frustrated with the high multitude of political posts on Facebook I always defer to a quote by the notorious Rodney King who said, “can’t we all just get along?” Living in a melting pot means the carrots should respect the celery. Because at the end of the day, they are soup in the same pot that will ultimately get eaten. Maybe that’s what this whole global warming is about. Could global warming be the proverbial person that eats up all the soup in the pot? At the end of the day, a system is only as good as the individuals enforcing it. Whether that’s communism, socialism, democratism… hmm is that even a word? Who cares, it is to me. Which brings me to another quote by the wise old Ferris Bueller, “A person shouldn’t believe in an ism, they should believe in themselves.”

I try my best to take the high road when it comes to politics. In other words, I try to watch from a mountain top afar looking down at all the hikers who climb, crawl, and scratch to be the one single voice at the top of the hill. When you get right down to it, I really feel its just a big game. The politicians put on a big show for the camera and then meet afterwards for drinks and a cigar. Reclining and laughing at all the little people they control and the worthless policies they create. I want to be the Crocodile Dundee who doesn’t have a voice because nobody out in the bush is going to hear him anyway. And the land we are bickering about belongs to his God Mate and not us. Now that is a beautiful view. But then again, is that being a view in itself actually politics? So I have twisted my brain into enough knots for one night. Before the next time you have the urge to post some political banter on Facebook, think about who truly is listening. You may be surprised to find out that it is actually nobody.
